Is there any substantial difference in premium economy between Qantas' old 747s (still with F) and the more-recently refurbished ones (with the Skybed II's)?
The seat itself is identical in both configurations. The only difference is the PTV, which is the older Rockwell Collins system on the 4-class aircraft and the newer Panasonic system on the 3-class. Picture quality and selection are better on the latter.
Also note that the windowless rows differ between the two as well (row 36 on the 4-class and rows 38 and 39 on the 3-class).

The 747 premium economy seat is not any variant of the Skybed. It's the very old biz class seat from the late 90's.
