I've stayed in the Movenpick (formerly Sheraton) a couple of times - it is fairly comfortable and staff are friendly. Security seems good - as you say there are high concrete walls surrounding the entire property which I believe went up after a bombing in 2002, so it can feel a little claustrophobic. I haven't been to the Pearl Continental.

Any thoughts readers? I understand the Movenpick has security concentre boulders around the property. I'm not sure about the Pearl Continental.
Which do you recommend from a security and comfort perspective? Appreciate any intel.
