Hello, I am wanting to take my better half on a weekend away from Sydney (to Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, anywhere really) and would like to take a domestic flight on QF (or JQ) that departs SYD T1 so we can access the international business lounge (sadly only QF gold this year). Do such flights still exist and how would I search for them? Cheers.

Currently, there are no Qantas operated domestic flights that leave international terminals.

Jetstar do still operate flights between Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne from international terminals.

Finding the flights to/from Brisbane is easy, you just go to the Brisbane Airport website, click on Arrivals and Departures and then click on Timetables. The timetables are generally published a couple of months in advance (and I can see some SYD-BNE flights on the JQ 787 in May).

Flights between MEL and SYD are harder to find and you'll either need to look on the Jetstar booking website, clicking through day by day (and look for a blue message that appears below the flights, go to the Jetstar website and look at oneway Sydney to Brisbane on the 14th of May 2017 to see what I mean).

The other way to search MEL-SYD flights is to go the the Qantas timetable (under plan on the website) and view a oneway weekly timetable clicking the next week button at the bottom to continue. You'll then need to scroll down and look at all the flight number for 2 digit numbers instead of 3 digit ones. ie JQ57 is a 2 digit flight number (international terminal) and JQ810 is a 3 digit flight number (domestic terminal).

The only other route which JQ sometimes operates from an international terminal is SYD-OOL but I don't think they've done that for a while now.

I know you asked about domestic travel, but for something different have you thought about a weekender to NZ? They aren't the longest flights in the world and you've got plenty of departure times throughout the day from T1 on both Qantas and Jetstar.
