i) Can one use the Silver Kris Lounge at SIN T3 if one's flight departs from T2?

ii) Does (i) above makes a difference if one was in transit arriving on another SQ flight at T3?

iii) Is the the Silver Kris T3 lounge much better than the T2 Silver Kris lounge?

iv) Are there showers at the T2 Silver Kris lounge?

Lastly,

v) Is there a Starbucks after immigration at Changi T2?

Sorry for the basic questions. I'm a OW bitch and hardly ever travel on SQ through SIN.

Hi,  yes you can use any of the SKLs as they're all connected airside in transit.   Definitely T3 lounge over T2 but there are showers in both.    Your flight may arrive in T2 or T3 depending on where the aircraft is going next, but no problem to go from an arrival at T2 to T3  for the lounge and back to T2 for the flight.   Not sure about the Starbucks but Google Changi airport as the Ste will probably tell you.

If you're not familiar with SQ, here are a few tips.
1.  If in business and going long haul, try to snag a bulkhead seat. The footwell is a lot wider and thus more comfortable. But if on A380, avoid row 11 as its windowless.
2.  You can pre-select meals from their book-the-cook system if in business, first, or premium.   (Google for link or see website)

There is a Starbucks in T2 but not T3 I believe.

Also FYI the Krisflyer lounge in T2 caters for more regional flights so the catering reflects that. More local dishes, lighter meals. T3 will have a slightly larger variety of food.

Thanks for the tip. Very helpful!

I heard about the bulkhead seats - will check it out.

Not too fussed about the food as its a 7h red eye to SIN - sleep's more critical.

Thanks for the tip and location of Starbucks!

Another P.S.  Don't go into the Gold lounge by mistake, I see that happen occasionally. Gold lounge is average at best.

That's the reason I don't fly with SQ much 😉

I know we have skewed off at a tangent, but when will Singapore upgrade the Gold lounges?

If I am not in business, rather than use the Gold lounge (I am a gold member), I hang near the SilverKris entrance and politely ask another single traveller if they would kindly take me in as their guest. I'm 6 for 6 so far, normally only waiting a couple of minutes.
You can get many things with the way you ask!

If your layover is 3+ hours, I would definitely go to T3 lounge. Quieter, greater food choice, the best shower facilities, and overall a better experience. T2 lounge is smaller and definitely feels busy during peak hour.

And how do you go about selecting these travelers? Do you explain why you're asking?

I did not find the food at T3 to be different from   T2 (breakfast). In fact, this morning SK T2 was quieter than SK T3, which was a bit of a zoo. All in all, I found the flight and lounge experience, at both ends a rather staid, and largely uninspiring affair. It certainly reaffirms my current FF strategy. 3 pax on my flight though were awkwardly excited about flying the A359 in J, which I found quite amusing consider the new SQ J cabin pales in comparison to QR. Airlines try so hard to build a new seat, to be different, when in fact a variant of the reverse herringbone brings so much more...*sigh*

Crazy. I definitely not recommend you to visit SKL T3 if you have a flight depart from T2. Walked a long way from T2 to T3 and dreadful Changi security at gate means I have no time to visit any SKL.

Summary: Next time fly Qatar Airways instead. You'll have plenty of time to visit Al Mourjan.
