I just spotted it on the website this afternoon but it seems that Velocity Gold now also have access to the LAX Emirates Lounge. It appears on the site when you click on the View Lounge access reference guide page and its Effective 5 May 2017.
I was there in early March, which I believe was just for Platinum at the time. It was completely full. No where to sit and with only one shower available, it took almost three hours to get a turn. Adding Gold is good for the program but going to make it worse.

EY lounge is way better than EK lounge, as far as I concern. It features tended bar.
