I highly doubt they'll let you in but it doesn't hurt to ask. Maybe if there are people checking in behind you, then you could ask them to guest one of your friends in.

It is just one guest. I have gold status but also get 2 QF lounge passes from Westpac each year. When I was in Singapore last year I used my gold status to get one guest into the QF lounge and a lounge pass for the other. Maybe your friend, if eligible, could sign up for one of the credit cards that provides the QF lounge passes but the downside is those passes can only be used for QF operated lounges. Another option is to use Plaza Premium lounges https://www.plaza-network.com/ that are open to everyone but requires payment on entry. They have lounges in SIN & LHR.
Always thought about asking but I'm worried about rejection!
Twice I've travelled with my partner and one of her friends and it meant I couldn't relax in the lounge!
Exactly, all that travel to get gold QFF flying for work I really want to be able to take advantage of the extra comfort when flying so many long haul sectors

You are taking advantage of it by your allowance of 1 guest, hardly an excuse to ask for more guests?? Everyone else does the same amount of flying to get to gold.

I'm not blaming the airline, just saying that I am hoping that I can find a way to get both guests in as if we can't we won't leave our friend outside by herself, we will all go and sit with her.

I've tried to bring an extra guest through twice, once I was allowed, once was denied...

I'd like to see Qantas copy Cathay and allow for points redemption for guest passes to lounges.
