Does anyone know if Qantas is blocking QR F space, booking as an award?
Over the past few weeks, I've noticed seats show up as a First class seat on the QF site, but it has the small " i " next to the first class seat saying "your flight from XXX to YYY will be in business."
I don't have any information but I too am now curious, I've been thinking about burning some point on QR F so potentially not being able to is disappointing. Pure speculation but maybe it could have something to do with the QF/EK relationship? Or maybe QR don't want to issue the seats?
From memory, QF can't open up reward space on QR for platinum FF, unlike they can on their own metal. If you mean, could it be available but not showing online then that it worth a phone call but I doubt it. Why would they give their call centre extra work?
I suspect the issue is that QR are limiting awards they're opening to QF as apparently it used to be easier to find QR F availability. I stumped across QR F DOH-SYD last night but I HAD to start the trip in Europe and couldn't book the DOH-SYD leg alone.
BTW: QF can only open awards on their own metal.

I've attached a screen shot to show an example.
This is even when it's a single sector booking.
Anyone got any info to share?
Cheers

I wouldn't think Qantas would be able to control award seats on other airlines... If anything it will be QR blocking it.
