Probably a very stupid question but looking at flights to NYC and the QF11/12 tickets are nearly $2k more but total travel time looks only a little less than the much cheaper options.
Is there any reason for this? planes look the same too unless I am very wrong.
QF 11 Syd-Lax is a A380 except for a Tuesday when its a 747. QF 11 Lax - JFK is a 747 which is the Arriving aircraft from BNE QF15 the same goes for QF12 on the return so maybe its the day of the week you are looking at for pricing. just a thought though, only Qantas would know why.
As gsx has responded, QF11 is QF A380/B747 to JFK. @Carl, not sure why you say the planes look the same for cheaper options, when QF11 is the only QF service into JFK. Others will include an AA flight into JFK.
