In interview with Al Jazeera news this week, Qatar's CEO stated that ban on Qatar's flights to middle east mean t he would be advancing plans ti serve 24 new destinations. Did suggest may start flights to more Australian Destinations. My thinking is you may se more flights to Canberra plus services to Christchurch and possibly Wellington. Any thoughts on possible routes?
Brisbane is a must once traffic rights are relaxed
Yes, definitely. Hope they get more rights soon. Though I do know Akbar was in talks with the Gold Coast to launch flights several years back - so that's a possible alternative.
He also mentioned Darwin at an event once, but everyone laughed, so he may have been joking. Though I've always thought Darwin would be the most geographically convenient gateway to Australia. If they invested in aviation infrastructure, Darwin would be a much better launching point for ULH flights to Europe than Perth is.
