Noticed that on the 9/10/11/12th July QF has scheduled a 744 on the SYD-AKL QF141/144 rotation in place of the A330/738. Anyone know why this was done/was any announcement of this/is this normal, or is this just a seasonal upgauge?

Cool mamma, that is what I would have loved to fly on, a true QF 747 in F.  Have flown EK F, and QF J on the 747s, but not an F on the QF 747s.

Wonder if they were selling F on those flights.

Unfortunately, Qantas stopped selling F on 747s a few years ago now, and have reconfigured all but two with J where F used to be in the nose. Now it's just the luck of the draw what aircraft you get, and even if you do get an older one with F seats it's still sold as J, the food/service etc. is exactly like business.

Qantas doesn't officially have F on its 744's - there is one, maybe two remaining jets that have their original F product.

If you search through these forums you may find a reference to the rego number and could then in theory determine if they are rostered onto this service.
