Donghai Airlines have applied for Shenzhen - Darwin flights with a 737-800 starting from September 3x weekly. NT goverment will be stoked about this as they were just having talks to start china-darwin flights. I wonder whether it will last...
I think it will be a struggle, Darwin is not exactly growing at the moment and it's tourism is restricted to the dry season so a year round service could be hard to maintain.
I wonder what the freight requirements would be like. Maybe fresh fruit heading to China? I wouldn't imagine this being successful with passengers only. Darwin is just too small
