I was trying to book some J tickets between SYD-PER for the end of the year and it now seems that there will be only 1 A330 service each day with the rest picked up by the 737s!
This surely must mean that the other A330s will be deployed fairly soon on another HKG route.
Has there been any other word on a SYD-HKG or BNE-HKG route coming on before the end of the year?
Are you looking at Saturdays? I tried a few weekdays and see 3 flights on A330 and one on 737, including into Jan18. Good to see that VA are differentiating their 2 business products.
Gallery FM on the Melb to HK flight the other day suggested they're pushing quickly for more slots to HKG, Shanghai and Beijing. Further, a new transcon J on 737MAX for 2018 delivery. Fingers crossed

Or it could also mean a SYD/BNE to China route

Wow. Thats a serious negative to VA domestic J, unless they quickly rollout a 737 upgrade

As suggested above, were you looking on the weekend? Even now most weekend flights are on 737.
