SYD International - delays at Qantas First/Platinum check in?

Has anyone checked in for an international flight at Qantas First / Platinum+ check-in since the latest security step-up: if so, should I be getting there earlier than my usual 1&1/2 hours pre-departure?

I flew Hobart to Hong Kong via Melbourne on Friday collecting a fast-track immigration card at the Qantas First check-in counter in Melbourne. There was no wait at the First check-in desk at approximately 8am and it took less than 10 minutes to get airside. 

I flew out of SYD last Fri. No wait at QF F check, straight through the express path and immigration, about 2 people in front of me for screening. I was through in about 10-15 minutes.
