Hi everyone

I am travelling to Singapore from the Gold Coast in two weeks from today and was wondering about the 787-9 economy product.

1. What are the meals like?
2. What is the wifi/entertainment like?
3. Whats the legroom/recline like?

Thanks,
Oskar

1. pretty ok for LCC, you can go on scoot website and see whats avail for your flight.

2. from memory no wifi, entertainment streamed to your device for a price, see scoot website for movies avail.
3. good for LCC, 30-31 inches for the basic product and a bit of recline, nothing special.

Scoot do have Wifi on all 787 flights now. Prices are as follows

US$5 - 20mb data (at 64kbps speed) for messaging apps
US$11.95 - 1 hour of unlimited full speed data
US$16.95 - 3 hours of unlimited full speed data
US$21.95 - 24 hours of unlimited full speed data

Economy seats also have in-seat power (No USB chargers) but you need to ask the flight attendant then pay ~$5-8 (can't remember which currency) to get it activated.

They also have streamed to your device entertainment which costs US$11 and has an app you need to download if you've got an iOS device prior to boarding.

Hi Oskar,

I went on Scoot about over a year ago, so the experience in some factors could be different.

Here were my views:

1. Meals are okay and are reasonably priced, however, nothing to be amazed by.

2. Wifi was average for the airline industry (not great) and was a little pricey. There are no seat back IFE like on Jetstar which you can pay for.

3. Legroom, well, they are a budget carrier so if you are tall, will be tight. I am small so I didn't have too much of an issue.

Also, when returning to the Gold Coast, when I came back on Jetstar from Japan, immigration was a massive mess. They have about two passport control booths and one custom security scanner. Run to customs if possible.

Happy Travels!

From Memory there are some days where Scoot, Air Asia and maybe one other flight all arrive around 6.00am.  It can get fairly hectic.   However I have on one occasion got from the airplane to the taxi rank in 7 mins (no luggage).
