So I'm not sure how this is going to work. I'm flying SYD-SFO-SAN on 02November, which is after the 30Sep Velocity FF 'divorce' (and my SFO-SAN leg is on VX). I'm currently QF gold & VA platinum, but am aware the VA plat status will serve no good for this flight :(
I've noted that for Admiral's Club access VX flights are not included, and that SFO doesn't have a Alaska Airlines lounge. Are there any lounge options for pax coming off of QF and on to VX at SFO for a shower? Thanks in advance!
There's an American Express Centurion lounge which you can access for free if you have an AMEX Platinum Charge or Centurion Card, or can pay US$50 at the door with any other AMEX card, which has showers.
Don't know which terminal you're flying from, but the lounge is in T3, and it's a similar setup to LAX where you can go through security at that terminal even if you're later flying out of another terminal, provided you have your same-day boarding pass.

Unfortunately, you do not get lounge access on domestic first class flights, unlike here in Australia, where you get lounge access.
