NO, big fail...QF Platinum and still to experience the joy of bags arriving in the first or second load of bags, especially after connections with regional flights eg TMW-SYD-PER, actually I get excited if bags actually arrive. Had a series of flights to Perth over a period of 12 months and no bags...!!! Oh well, there is always next time.
As a Qantas CL member, I receive first class tags on all bags checked in when travelling (even on economy and business, and where there is no first class on a flight). I am certain this expedites the delivery of my bags significantly. I am almost always first one out of the arrivals gate, picked up by my driver and half way home before other passengers have collected their baggage.
Priority tags have worked for me where there has not been a conectingflight. As soon as there is a connecting flight, you are back with the unregistered. I do agree; AA into LAX and DFW, priority does mean priority.
As a QF Platinum, it has been hit and miss on QF, both domestic and international. On domestic flights, I often find having a Q-tag is worse than a printed tag. When I am flying on an EK or an Oneworld flight, however, I do find that my bag is usually very close to the first bag out.
Priority has worked fine in 90 percent of times for me. I'm Star Gold and fly exclusively with SQ in and out of Australia. On my latest trip flying SQ and SK (in Europe) my luggage and that of my family were delivered quickly at AMS, CPH, MXP and SIN. On return to ADL on SQ and with the MH flight having arrived minutes before us, the priority SQ pax still managed to get their luggage before many of the MH pax even though it was announced the SQ luggage would be delayed because of MH. ADL has only one international carousel.

My wife hates the Priority labels, it usually results in her luggage being left off the plane LAX to SYD
