Hi all,
Does anyone know if you still need to be booked on a flex fare to use your complementary upgrades on Virgin? If so, it seems those fareâs have increased substantially under the new system.

Yes, you still have to use Flexi fares. It looks like flexi fares haven't moved much on routes I've checked – provided you travel a single sector. Multi-leg flights have increased across the board.

From what i understand from the virgin website, the 'upgrade' is only an upgrade of fare. So from a saver fare using your upgrade would upgrade you to a flex fare and so on....

Where did you find a source for that? Everything I've read has said flexi-to-Premium/Business.

On my account it says this:
To request a bonus complimentary fare upgrade contact 131 875 in Australia, 0800 230 875 in New Zealand or +61 2 8667 5924 internationally.
So by fare upgrade i am assuming it is just up to the next 'fare'?
I could be wrong...
