What's going on with QANTAS international business class sale- "fly away". It will not give access to the sale fare unless you stay away for a minimum time (looks like four days, but not stated anywhere)? This is really bad. Any insights out their? Try booking a flyout on Friday and return Sunday?

Shrewd yield management from the Qantas boys. They aren't going to give away "the keys to the kingdom" to weekend travellers.

There is so much competition on many routes that you may be able to find a lower priced competitor than QF who gets you there and back during a weekend.

Looking at ExpertFlyer's fare information, from e.g. fare basis code IR90H:

FOR TICKETING ON/AFTER 09JUN17
TRAVEL FROM LAST STOPOVER MUST COMMENCE NO EARLIER
THAN 3 DAYS AFTER DEPARTURE FROM FARE ORIGIN.

It's also done to stop business travellers using it when they only go away for a day or two.

many international airfares are or will become all one way fares soon.

Have also heard that rather than advertise from $x & then trying to find them, some airlines will say ...

$x for flights departing on these dates & may even state number of seats at that price & then number at slightly higher price. Why ? Cos people get sick of seeing some advertised fare, that is only available for 2am departures or had so few seats at that fare, they all went in 1st 30 seconds.
