I’ve just been perusing a few reviews of the Al Mourjan lounge prior to an upcoming trip (first time with QR in J) and one of the more recent one’s written in the last month highlighted that the A la carte option has been reduced to sandwich service only. This appears to only effect the Doha lounge with their other lounges still offering this service. I was looking forward to potentially sampling the fillet Chris highlighted in his review from last year, but I’m keen to know if I need to adjust my expectations ahead of time. Can anyone shed a bit more light on this?
I was there in October and it's buffet only. Pretty good, but not up to previous standard. You'll enjoy QR, outstanding service and comfortable seating. The in-flight catering's pretty good too.
Yeah, they still do the sandwiches to order down in the cafe zone on the ground floor, but only buffet dining in the restaurant zone upstairs these days.
I was at that lounge last year (16 hour connection on US election day) and the a la carte dining was there.
Only had a short connection when I was there a few weeks ago, so didn't even go down that end of the lounge (thinking I wouldn't have time to order food, eat anything, then get to the next gate), heading right upstairs to the buffet.

No a la carte dining on my last visit 12 months ago. I believe it ceased once they opened their premium first lounge

Thanks for the clarification everyone! I'll just be sure to have a little more food in the air rather than waiting for a larger meal on the ground.

I was there a week ago and asked if they could make me a custom onmlete (no dairy) and was told “of course it’s a la carte”
