Anyone else had an issue get points/status from HK airlines flights. Flew BKK to HK and didnt get points. Finally got the below from Virgin after several contact attempts:
Thank you for contacting us about claiming missing Points for your flights with Hong Kong Airlines.
We have been in touch with Hong Kong Airlines and they have advised us that your flights below are ineligible to earn Points. Please be advised that the eligible flights are those between or within Mainland China, Hong Kong, Australia and New Zealand only.
Which is a bit strange as when Virgin announced their partnership with HK airlines they said:
Velocity members can earn Velocity Points and Status Credits on the following services:
All Hong Kong Airlines operated flights (excluding to/from North America)

It depends on your fare type (specifically, your fare letter). Some of the cheaper fares, especially the lowest-cost business class fares, earn no points or status credits at all.

So you booked the cheapest fare that doesnt earn points, how is it a "issue"?

They are claiming i dont get point/status due to it not being ''flights are those between or within Mainland China, Hong Kong, Australia and New Zealand'' which is not what their announcement and website says. I checked the fare type and they should get status/points. I dont see where it says some flight classes dont earn points status but mine where V & Q class that are on the earning list anyway. Virgin is getting ahrder and harder to deal with :(
