I’m VA Platinum and already achieved my status again. I have a business class flight coming up between BNE-SIN. Should i add this to krisflyer (this way i could aso start flying star alliance if required this year) or VA?
There was an article here by Chris showing how you can double dip. In a nutshell, you still credit all the miles and status to VA but with money you spent with SQ, it goes toward your PPS. Once you achieved PPS status you are also a star alliance gold. But it depends on if you'll spend >$25000 SGD with SQ in a year or not.
I fly a lot but not always on Singapore Air - had the same question. Now that I'm platinum, thinking of starting to use my Krisflyer number to work toward Star Alliance. I guess the downside is not getting the free Economy X upgrades.
