Just a heads up for anyone thinking of using their free flight on the Amex Velocity Platinum that American Express's PDS no longer seems to align with the fare classes actually offered. The last PDS for this product (October) still lists "Saver" fares, which don't exist any more, however even assuming Elevate won't help you get a ticket, because Amex travel uses some corporate allocation that won't match up with actual seat availability.
I would go for a card with a travel credit instead, if you have the option. This one keeps being devalued in creative ways.
My understanding is that the working premise is that the Amex flight can be booked if a reward seat is available. Even if this isn't the actual pool of fares from which the allocation is made, it is a good proxy for availablity.
