Its not only the "true" credit card benefits that are being wound back.
But look at pseudo credit cards, where the banks don't have the chances of loosing money as we have to put money in first, like Qantas TMC formerly QCC, that one went from half 0.50 points per $1 to 0.25 points per $1 on Australian domestic spend, and also no more points for paying bpay bills to third parties.
At least with the JQ Mastercard, you can still earn points via bpay for paying third parties like electricity or gas or insurances.
With Qantas TMC these are gone from July I think.
Must be to do with that banks loosing $ from the RBA changes in rules on credit cards fees.

Just got an email from Jetstar Card Service announcing they will reduce QFF earning from 1 point per $1 spend to 0.5 point per $1 from 7th May.

Macquarie have certainly been going through their card fleet. It joins their own card and the Woolies card in getting wound back
