I’m heading back to Singapore next week. I’m a Qantas Club silver, flying economy and I’m wondering what lounge I’ll get access to? I gifted an electronic lounge pass to a friend flying premium tonight back to mel, and he was put in the SATS lounge. I’ll be a bit disappointed if I end up in there to be honest!

As a Qantas Club member surely you have access to the Singapore Qantas Lounge.

If you are a Qantas Club member, I would have thought you would get into the QF lounge. If you are using your Silver voucher- ditto. I was in the QF Singapore lounge last week as I transferred from QF35 to QF1 and had six hours to kill. I was very underwhelmed by the QF lounge - far too crowded. I went to the BA lounge next door for some peace and quiet, and when that got busy, went to the EK lounge, which was just about empty.

just to be clear, are you a Qantas Club Member (paid the annual fee for the Qantas Club), or a Qantas FF Silver member?

The Sing Lounge is for Qantas Club, Qantas FF Gold, Plat, Plat1, etc

If your a Qantas Club member, yes, you will get access

I know there is something on the comp lounge passes that's allows Qantas to direct you to another partner lounge if the Qantas lounge is too busy, etc

I agree, the Sing lounge is ordinary....

You will generally get access to the Qantas Club Lounge.

However since the rejig of flights the lounge is reaching capacity at times and I believe they are using SATS as overflow.

As moa999 said above

Qantas Club (with or without Silver status) and single-use vouchers have been occasionally redirected to the SATS lounge. At this time it's impossible to tell if you'll be sent there or not as it comes down to loads on the QF flights and what times QF predicts will be busiest in the lounge.

I'm a QFF gold, and will be flying SIN-DXB on EK.

Which is the better lounge to use ? I am travelling with wife and 2 kids. Will EK even let me in with them ?

A lot depends on the time you fly into SIN and access the lounge. From 5:30pm - 8:30pm they get 8 or so Qantas planes landing and depending on the number of FF members on the planes if the lounge gets filled to its capacity of approximately 480 persons. It's Singapore, they are not going to break safety rules to let more passengers in than capacity allows. I was told Alan Joyce recently visited the lounge and asked if there was space to expand, so Qantas is aware there is a problem. My schedule allows me to get to the lounge early when there are plenty of seats available thankfully. Good luck. BTW the other lounges including SATS next door are nice.

, you said that you are "Qantas Club silver". Could you clarify that for us please, as we can't give you proper advice otherwise. Do you have Qantas Club membership, OR do you have Silver status in the Qantas Frequent Flyer program? Or do you have both?

I suspect the individual calls themselves a Qantas Club Silver because, from memory when I was Silver and a QC member, that’s how Qantas printed my QFF status on my boarding passes.

Thank you every one for their responses. I am a Qantas Club member and Silver FF. As Theresnormissin states, Qantas prints Qantas Club Silver on boarding passes. I’m traveling on QF36 so seems like there’s a fair chance of going to SATS lounge.

Did you get into the Qantas lounge or did they direct you to the SATS lounge? I'm not sure what the SATS lounge is like however I wouldn't be too impressed if they didn't let me into the lounge. I understand that Qantas can't go over capacity however this must be addressed ASAP and the lounge should be renovated to allow for the extra capacity .

I have had the same thing happen to me on the last two trips through Singapore in the last four weeks. I'm also a Silver FF with Qantas Club membership. They claim it is because of overcrowding, however whilst they were directing me to the SATS lounge they were still letting other members in. When I queried the staff why this was, they continued with the claim the lounge was too busy. I then asked if it was to do with the travel class and they went quiet, which in local terms means 'yes'. I emailed Qantas directly about the situation and requested a reply, as is usual for Qantas there has been no reply. I'm travelling back through there tonight and fully expect the same treatment. For anyone complaining about the Singapore QC, ask to have a look at the SATS lounge, it's awful. I would honestly prefer to just go and sit in one of the airport bars, however having paid for QC membership I shouldn't have to. V dissapointing.
