I got a set of business redemption tickets via asiamiles and the trips are all Qantas operated domestic routes. When I was trying to proceed selection on Qantas website, although the system shows that I am the CX ruby tier member, the preferred seat selection for most sections (syd-bne, Mel-Syd and per-Syd) was not available so that I cannot choose the first several rows in front cabin. (BNE-CNS is the only exception that I can choose 1A)
Does anyone know if the privilege of preferred seat selection is available to qf ff only or it is also based on the fare type only? I only knew BA has some special rules towards seat selection.
Access to forward rows is only available to Gold/Platinum status holders up until 72 hours prior to departure when any remaining seats become available to everyone else.

T-80 is the magic time you are referring to, however note that it can be a tad fluid.

Ohh...All right. Thanks for your reply. I obviously got used to the generosity of CX, which offers forward seat to any member regardless their tier as long as you contact their customer service.

It's the same for QF's own silver tier members.
