Hi team,
Next month, I’ll be arriving into Terminal 6 at LAX (on Air Canada), and connecting onto QF12 out of TBIT. Noting bags should be checked through to Sydney, but I’ll need to check in for QF at LAX, I was wondering if anyone knew if you can check in at the QF lounge instead of having to leave the secure zone and go to the checkin counters at TBIT?
I’m QF platinum and flying J, connecting from AC out of Toronto (and clearing US CBP and US security in Toronto).
I’m really hoping to avoid having to pass through security again (mainly so I can maximise my time in the first lounge!). Any advice gratefully received.

If your baggage will be checked through, you can always check-in online and print out your own boarding pass. So no need for you to check in again at LAX.

Firstly Air Canada have an interline agreement with Qantas so see if you can check in for Qantas sector in Toronto. I flew from Montreal to Melbourne last year, checked in with AC in Quebec City all the way through including Qantas. On checking into lounge they reprinted my boarding pass to a Qantas one.
Secondly in Los Angeles use the Terminal connector and walk from Terminal 6 to Terminal 4, you then have to walk through T4 to security, turn left after Gate 41 and you walk straight to TBIT avoid long security lines.

Thanks, I didn’t know about the interline agreement! I’ll certainly give that a crack with AC.

Even if you can’t print your boarding pass, you can check-in on-line and when you arrive at LAX the oneworld or qantas first lounge can print your boarding pass or the staff at the departure gate.... but probably good to get it printed as soon as the gate opens.
