Been with QFF since 1997, and with VFF for a few less years, have had many credit cards over that time.
Probably Aust banks don't see the benefits of giving out PP lounge access as they have already got a twin program with Amex.
PP lounge joining fee is only Usd$99 so not that pricey, if you feel its important, plus about Usd$27 on the entry side, if on the lower rungs of the card ladder.
Also, a lot of the credits cards that to earn good points with QF (due to Reserve Bank rules), have watered down points earnings.
There is one but not open to everyone. The BOQ specialist visa card. You earn 1 point per dollar up to $10000 per statement cycle and you get a unlimited PP access with 1 guest. All for $399 annual fee.
But you have to be a doctor, lawyer or dentist to apply.
Westpac Altitude cards give you access to PP lounges (2 free per year on the Black).
I'm wondering if you could get one and setup the PP membership then later change the card to the QFF program which costs an additional $50 per year. Could achieve what you want if they let you do this.
Citibank's Citi Signature and Prestige credit cards can earn Qantas Points while also having Priority Pass membership included (if you choose the Qantas version of these cards rather than the Citibank Rewards version), but the earning rate on most 'everyday' purchases isn't very strong.

I'm after a CC that provides a good earning rate for Qantas, but also access to Priority Pass lounges. Is there one that's not an Amex?
