Are all "sale fares" on VA codeshares operated by SQ T,Q,or V fares? There doesn't seem to be any way to see the airfare type on the Virgin Australia website before booking.

Select your fare for outbound and return flights, and a "view fare rules" button will appear. The first line on each tab will contain a "fare basis" code, such as "NZRASQ90". The first letter of that code is your fare code.
Here's an example I just cooked up, which shows that a MEL-PEK fare is an N basis fare:
