There is no arrivals lounge in Sydney unfortunately, so no it won't allow you.

Depends. When you say "between flights", where are you going after you touch down in Sydney?

Arrive ex HKG 0600? and depart  for LST at 1600. is there another option?

If your flight to LST is on Virgin, and you're flying Business Class, or if you're a Gold/Platinum Velocity member, you'll be allowed into the Virgin Australia lounge at the domestic terminal, and you should be able to use the showers there.

I could be wrong but I do remember reading something once that if you show your boarding pass from Virgin Atlantic then you should be able to get into the Virgin Australia Lounge
