Does anyone know why qantas are flying the 747 to Honolulu? I’m looking at dates in oct/nov and was hoping to see the a330 business suites. Is this a permanent swap? Thanks
All apart from one 747 has the fully lie flat SkyBed IIs like the A380.
The exception is VH-OEB which has the angled SkyBed I but also still has the fully flat old First cabin which is sold as Business and selectable by elites.

They are freeing up a330s for domestic flights to replace 737s for which there is a pilot shortage. They are keeping the 747s a little longer before retiring them. Note the 747 also has 50 more seats for peak times. Also next year is a A380 refurb so more juggling capacity with 747s is also on the cards.

Thanks! Maybe another foolish question does the 747 have the skybed II fitted or the angle lie flats?
