Airpoints Status Points Earning

I am new to using Airpoints. I saw in the terms that the Status Points are based on a Journey. Is that the Journey per Flight number or is it based on the overall destination. I can understand with the Auckland to LOndon flight being a single code, however I am on BNE - AKL - HOU - CUN return all in business so based on other programs I would expect to earn on each flight. Is that the case?
