Hi All,

Interested to hear of any options out there I have not thought of.

Keen to avoid Air Mauritius as I am reading they are unreliable via Perth and also it’s a long way to fly without getting any FF benefits.

Have investigated:

- EK via DXB but that would mean surfacing in DXB and a QF ticket there and then an EK ticket from DXB to MRU.

- QF via SYD and JNB feels like the best option and then SAA or Comair to MRU

Any other options that anyone can think of?

Thanks

I think BA direct from London and a BA codeshare on Kulula from Johannesburg are the only OneWorld flights to Mauritius. You would earn points but no status credits on the EK ticket from DXB, but get both with BA from JNB.

Have you thought about a RTW fare? Could be just as time and cost effective with some additional stopovers.

Via SQ and apply for a United status match (specifically for that flight)?

Thanks that’s an idea I hadn’t thought of. Probably a bit much for a 2 week trip - sorry didn’t mention that up front.

Don’t think that would work for a QFF somehow. And Via SIN is Air Mauritius SQ codeshare.

Thanks. I am thinking via RSA with stop in CPT for a week and then using Comair to MRU is best option and back via JNB with AUS-JNB on QF.

It looks like EK is your best option, with one stop in DXB, QFF earning ability, and reliability (at least compared to MK).

The only other option is QF via SYD to JNB, and then BA/Comair to MRU.

There are otherwise no OneWorld carriers flying into MRU. Not even QR, which I found surprising.
