Hi - just wanted to share my experience on my recent rebooking fee issue.

In Feb this year, I booked a return 12 month ticket Singapore - Melb with the onward leg in Premium economy (P Class) and a full economy on the return leg in December. I wanted to change the date on the return trip and was surprised that they charged me USD50 even on a full Y class ticket.
I understood that a Y ticket does not incur a rebooking fee but paying for a higher class P class leg negates the benefit of the Y ticket ?

Is this right ???

Usually you are subject to the most restrictive conditions from one of the legs which covers the whole ticket, so I wouldn't be surprised if that is the case. I can't remember if it is due to it being the outbound leg or something else. Its been a while since I spent my life reading fare conditions. Someone else may know in more detail however I'm not surprised that you have been charged that.

I just changed a business saver ticket to full Suites class and was charged $350. While it may be in the TC and simply asked the staff member that it would make sense to waive the charge in the case of an upgrade being paid for in full. She replied that she will have to refer to a manager and that they will come back with a decision soon. Ive always believed in empowering your staff, allowing them to make a call especially with something like this, however it is Singapore and things are never clear cut there.
