I have a flight booked in for June, it's the 23:59 redeye, and when I booked it was the A330. I've just gone back into the website to double check some details and it's telling me the flight is a 737!!! Given that it is a J flight, the difference for a red-eye flight will be pretty big! ABT have written previously that the flights are exclusively A330... has this changed?
Yeah, I agree, but it seems a bit weird having this 737 flight already planned months ahead with no A330 alternative. Also, yes I think you should either phone or switch flights.
I checked as well and it looks like the Saturday red eye is a 737. I bet my bottom dollar that this is due to lack of demand, I mean how many would want to travel then? I definately recommend changing to an A330 service, if you haven't experienced the inflight service in business you are in for a treat. It is the best domestic in-flight product I have ever experinced.

No, I believe that they are all still A330 flights, maybe an error?

Now and again an aircraft gets subbed for maintenance, etc. It happens. You could always switch to VA572 + VA808 or leave earlier on VA698.

Is your flight on a Saturday night by any chance? Looks like they give 332 a rest that night.
I think in the AusBT article this week, it says that from May, certain flights will be 737's again at the weekends.

Sorry, Article says QANTAS intend to do that. However, it does appear that the VA redeye is a 737 on Saturdays....

That's a bit weird. Maybe you should just call Virgin up, and I'm sure they will have an explanation. It is probably a mistake.... Good luck!
