Does anyone know why Qantas don't allow friends / colleagues travelling together to upgrade with points, either using all points from one traveller or split (so that each traveller uses their own points to upgrade)?
It is possible to upgrade when travelling with a family member (and then transfer points between each family member if you wish to), but I am not aware of a way to do this if travelling with a friend.
I have booked for two people on one booking (so that we are seated together), traveling PE and want to do a points upgrade to Business for both travellers. Is there a work around?
You would need to split the bookings and request upgrades separately, but there's no guarantee you'd be seated together if you were both upgraded, or that both of you indeed would be upgraded.
