I was just curious to know, what Qantas used to have as their lounge facilities pre the 2007 opening of the current Business and First lounges. I am also interested where it was.
Yes, downstairs opposite gate 24 in the 1990s and most of the 2000s. It was a standard sort of Qantas Club, not nearly as nice as the current international lounges and with a much-reduced F&B offering.
In the 1970s and 1980s, it was the Captains Club and in a location in the central tower, rather than out on any of the piers.

At the time International was effectively split into distinct piers with separate immigration.

I also remember the down stairs first lounge in the early 2000s, also remember it was usually fairly uncrowded
