Since you are not really dc, silver status wouldn’t give much benefit. You only fly economy, then choose which offers the best fare that day. Don’t bother with status, unless you want to keep Gold status.
I also agree SQ. Depending on where you sit, for economy or premium, SQ has daytime flights in each direction. Status or points would not come into the decision.
Flew SQ for first time in 20 years last week. Poor on lounges and general service and food and wine much better on QF but large SQ seat is attractive although i needed help to convert it to a bed and the angled sleeping is tricky and I don't have large feet.
