Possibility of a status match from Velocity to Qantas?

Virgin Australia - Velocity Rewards

Hi all


I recently started a new job and the domestic preferred airline is Qantas - I have just gone Platinum with Virgin - a mix of work travel domestic and overseas travel.

Do I have any chance of getting Qantas to match my Virgin status now that they will be my go to airline?

Hi amcardle, depending on the nature of your employer's agreement with Qantas, there may be a provision for status matching for employees of that company who travel for work: perhaps ask your travel arranger if this is available to you as the first step, and go from there.

Get the travel arranger to speak with the account manager at Qantas

I asked Virgin multiple times for a status match with no luck and since we fly on both airlines had the travel arranger make a call and a day later Virgin had matched my Platinum status
