I like Korean Air for economy.Comfortable, great food, Seoul is a good stopover city (though the flight necessitates a stopover). Usually reasonably priced.

I would do cx. Call them to help you choose 40H for free, best extra room seat on 77G.

All much the same. The A380 is certainly very comfortable so I guess QF or EK. The situation at SIN with the overcrowding at the Qantas lounge may force you to look to EK. I enjoyed the Dreamliner service albeit in PE. In Y it could be a little challenging.
I travelled through Singapore just over a month ago (MEL-SIN-LHR) and at the time was Bronze QFF and Qantas Club Member. I had a 6 hour layover in SIN and I bolted to the Qantas Lounge as I heard there were problems. Yes I noticed it was initially pretty busy but if you are travelling alone there will be no problems whatsoever gaining entry, assuming you meet entry requirements. I believe they have now committed to or have even built a First lounge at SIN. QF Lounge gets busy from about 5-7pm, but after that it is pretty quiet! (Funny story actually when I arrived at the lounge I was scrambling for a seat in a quetish area and ended up plonked next to a group of four with their "FIRST" boarding passes sittting in an envelope. I was offered all these extra pieces of fancy fingerfood. I initially thought it was a bit strange, but just as I was about to leave to catch my flight to LHR I was told politely to move off to another area as that area had been cordoned off for Chairmans Lounge :D lol

Agreed. I have come off the 789 feeling pretty good. The PER option is good for one reason and that is the ease of transfer from domestic to Qantas international. The new lounge there is great. All in its the least pain with transit compared to SIN and DXB or HK. A leisure traveller may wish to stop in Asia but I just need to get to London and back so the choice of stop boils down to the ease of transit and a decent shower

QF PER connection is good because Y seats are 32"pitch like their international competitors.

PR from MEL/SYD/BNE (widebodies ex MEL daily and SYD at weekends, or daily in Christmas hols.) to MNL then stay overnight and depart next day to LHR on the A359 a good option. One of the cheapest but by no means the worst. Good service on board, safe and not bad punctuality. MNL airport is too basic but good hotels only 20 - 30 minutes from airport.

I know you are linked to QF, but I find SQ hands down the best in economy - consistently excellent. You won't get lounge access in SIN, but you almost don't need it at SIN Airport (and worst case, you can pay a few $$ and get access to their pool and shower)

My advice is to fly to Dubai with Emirates, then stay in the airside hotel for 8 or so hours. This isn’t particularly expensive. You don’t have to clear immigration but may need to go through security. You forward check your bag, don’t need to claim your baggage so carry pyjamas and fresh underwear in your carry on. The hotel there offers a meet and greet at the aerobridge where are nice Philipino lady will get you through security into your room within 5 minutes versus 35. It’ll add about 10% on top of ticket but your have a shower, poo, sleep. Water and it may save your life in terms of health. You will arrive very fresh at your destination. They even have a gym and pool. Everyone calls themselves and airport Hotel so go to the airport website to find the airside hotel.
