Hi all. I am arriving SYD on SQ at 1755. Then transfer to QF 783 at 1935 to ADL. Would I have enough time to make the connection. I have not been through SYD for over 10 years, so any advice appreciated. The flights are on separate tickets as VA cancelled VA 444 so i have to go on QF
It should be fine and if not they will pu you in the next available. The connection area is right next door and they are very adept at managing delays. Recently they overrode the computer to get me a good connection after a delayed flight.
I’m not sure if they will put you on the next flight if it is not on the same ticket without additional fees. Sydney airport is little bit messy. If your flight into Sydney is not delayed, you should be fine, as long as your bags arrive on time. It will be tight, but highly possible.
it is tight and there is some risk there. Separate ticket = you take all the risk. You will have to transfer by bus from terminal 1 (international) to terminal 3 (QF domestic). The bus is every 10 min. It is best not to have to declare anything at custom.
Summary = i would increase the transit time if i was you.
Thanks everyone for the advice. Unfortunately there is no later VA flight, and the QF is the last to ADL. Its 31/12/2018 so i dont want to overnight in Sydney
You should be fine (unless a major delay) I arrive at similar times to yours all the time into Sydney international and never have issues making connection flights within 1.5 to 2 hrs. Express path also helps if you are flying at the front end of the plane :)
