I'm sweating on December reward seats coming available to try and snag some - is anyone in the know as to when they pop up available - is it midnight eastern standard time?
I think it is midnight GMT, so 8am Perth. In the past this varied with Intermaional flights, but I haven’t checked recently. As per Patrick’s suggestion I would try testing around that time.
Yes, midnight UTC/GMT - 354 days in advance. Bear in mind that if you require a connecting flight domestically you would have to wait another 24 hours to book the entire sector. Also, some airlines, eg Cathay release their inventory 365 days ahead. .
Thanks for the GMT heads up, was able to snag them at bang on 8am Perth time. Was able to get Perth to Melb seats (was fearing I’d only be offered via ADL) and was able to grab the connection thru to Tas as well all in one hit.
Nice. It's worth noting that QF seats tend to be released earlier for those with high status than for those with lower status. Also QF has no obligation to release reward seats for any and every flight e.g. if they expect to be able to sell all the Business Class seats for a Christmas Eve flight (people trying to get home for Christmas) then they may choose not to release any Business Class reward seats at all. If classic reward seats are available for Business Class Domestic then you can book economy seats and upgrades should be approved immediately (note if the upgrade is requested before the flight is ticketed then it will get stuck in a queue and you'd need to ring up to get that sorted). Worth considering if you're wanting to fly Business Domestic but have limited points.
Seats are released 10am Brisbane time. I've been watching each day to try and get classic reward seats (even in economy) to LAX around next Christmas and nothing has been released since December 10! I'm gold and hoped I'd get something being in economy but it appears no seats have even been released.
Also recommend phoning Qantas at exactly the time, or slightly before, the seats are released, as popular routes seats are snapped up very quickly, sometimes within the first few minutes of their release.
It's 297 days for bronze/silver though... you will only see economy from 355. First and business is 297 days otherwise.
Can you clarify your post please THR? You were talking about two different things in your first sentence, one is the status of the FF and the other was the class of the seats. Thanks
Perhaps you meant:
Gold & Platinum: 355 days for both business and economy
Silver & Bronze: 355 days for economy and 297 for business.

I think it is well short of 12 months. Check a test booking to work out the limits.
