I've been trying to book reward seats from HK to various locations like BKK, TPE, NRT and PEK at various times and yet no CX flights show up. For eg, to get to BKK it gives me MU flights transiting in PUD!!! WTF?!
Same issue I rang up the frequent flyer help centre they also could not locate any flights, they said it was because of spring festival around end of Jan and all flights very busy.
I can locate flights on cathay from Hong kong to adelaide later in the year
I have found that there are some Asia Miles exclusive awards on Cathay Pacific. Recently found a Y and J award on Sydney to Hong Kong that is only bookable on Asia Miles and can't find anywhere else (on Qantas, American, etc).
FYI, I have looked at dates during February, April and August! And found nothing.
I put a random date range in August (5-13) and found a lot of availabilities for CX and KA for TPE/BKK/PEK. I agree, not much for NRT. This is with my QF Platinum status so I wonder if this is a factor?

Ok I checked those dates and there is availability. But generally I have found a lack of options concerning CX on the QF website.
