Do you find that Velocity has since the switch over to the Sabre system offered very limited international flights/destinations for online redemption? I used to be able to redeem a whole range of flights with partners, e.g. Etihad and American Airlines, which now either unavailable for online redemption or mostly 'sold out'.

Sorry, I meant "Etihad and American Delta Airlines".

I asked about this when I was on the phone with them recently. They were hopeful for an update to incorporate Etihad flights online again very soon (that was 3 weeks ago though...). At the moment, I think you can only book Virgin Australia domestic and international, plus some Virgin America reward flights online.
I don't think I would hold my breath about that improving dramatically any time soon though - There seems to be a lot of issues to sort through (including the fact you can't allocate seats to your booking at the moment!!)

For what it's worth, yes, you can't book flights with airline partners at the moment, with the exception of code-shares for flights connected with ex-Australian flights.
Rushed? Probably.
