Hi All

Am booked using Qantas Frequent Flyer points from LAX to Mexico City. Does anyone know what complimentary checked baggage allowance is (if available)? Qantas site refers me to the American Airlines site which seems to suggest:
- 2 complimentary checked bags for OneWorld Sapphire (ie Qantas Gold)
- 1 complimentary checked bag for OneWorld Ruby (ie Qantas Bronze)

We are a family of 2 adults (I Qantas Gold, 1 Bronze) and 3 kids under 11 (all Qantas Bronze)

Thanks in advance

You get 2 free bags as a Qantas Gold. Bronze gets nothing. i think you mean to say Ruby = Qantas silver.

AA's complimentary baggage allowance for flights from U.S. or to / from Canada, Caribbean, Central America, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and Virgin Islands:

3 x 70 lbs (32 kg) bags if OW Emerald (Qantas Platinum/Platinum One/Chairmans Lounge)
2 x 50 lbs (23 kg) bags if OW Sapphire (Qantas Gold)
1 x 50 lbs (23 kg) bag if OW Ruby (Qantas Silver)

Also make sure you have FF your cards ready as even though it was on the screen in front of them they weren’t looking and tried to charge me extra for a third bag as a platinum. The card led to a double check and an apology.
