Hi folks,
Looking to take wife and my 10 year old to Europe during July 2020 via business class. Id be leaving/returning to perth.
I have 650k+ FF points, so should be enough for two seats, and pay for the third. Im a Qantas Gold member.
July isnt yet available to book but from what i have seen, finding business class seats looks challenging, especially when I then have to pay for a third seat on exactly the same flights.
Destination wise, I dont really care if I fly into or leave via Italy, Germany, France or England, we are pretty flexible. Duration is likely to be around 3 weeks.
Can anyone make any suggestions on what might be my best options to achieve the above? Really appreciate any suggestions.

Middle of the week bookings. Tuesday or Wednesday. QF on Emirates rather than qantas methyl if you can book with them. Only because QF is quite full most of time. If you can get two then paying for the third shouldn’t be a problem. You may have to use a call centre probably more than once to get someone who will go the extra yards to make it work.

Would you be happy to pay $ to fly CX PER - HKG, and then do the rewards from there, HKG to Europe.

If considering CX perhaps look at destinations like MAN, LGW, BRU, MAD, FCO, DUB, BCN.

On the way out of the UK, also maybe go by Chunnel to CDG or another city, flying a premium class out of the UK does have a lot of APD (UK) tax linked to it.

Just building on some already good ideas:
1. Paying to get to Asia and then using FF for onwards legs is a strategy that many people use. Availability from HK/ Singapore to Europe is many time greater than Australia-Europe. One thing to bear in mind though though is that you might find yourself stranded if your flight to Asia is significantly delayed. For this reason I would look at stopping overnight to reduce the risk of missing your flight to Europe.
2. Destinations like Munich, Lyon, Milan and Madrid are worth a look as they may have seats available when other (big name) destinations don't.
