Im regularly through San Fran on my way to DC. Qantas seems to do a range of codeshares with Alaska.

When I’m on an Alaska codeshare (with QF number) the American Airlines Lounge declines entry even though I’m OW emerald. Is there a rule around this?

I think you have to be on a one world connecting as well, and besides there is an Alaskan lounge. The codeshare may not cut it.

The requirement for lounge access is that the flight must be OneWorld marketed and Operated. As Alaskan is not part of OneWorld this is why you would have been declined.

You do, however, have access to the Alaskan lounges at LAX and SEA. And from 2020, there will be an Alaskan lounge at SFO!
