Yes you can. As long as you are QFF Platinum/Platinum One/Charimans Lounge, you can access the First Lounge regadless of you class of travel. "Next onward flight must be on a Qantas, Emirates, Jetstar Airlines+ or oneworld flight number"

Thanks Nick. I am none of the above so guess the answer would be no.

Id use the Emirates lounge myself, its a far nicer product than the Qantas business lounge.

Use the Emirates lounge! The product is much better in both Melbourne and Auckland, no need to access the Qantas lounge, when you have access to the exclusive, world renowned, Emirates lounge.

Also, the Emirates/Qantas partnership does not extend to trans-tasman flights (it is still subject to regulatory approval), therefore you wouldn't be able to access the Qantas lounge unless you have a higher status in One World, and your next flight is operated by Qantas, Jetstar Emirates or a One World carrier with a One World flight number, however you should be able to access the Qantas Business Class lounge in Melbourne, when you depart, although I would reccomend you use the Emirates lounge, as the product is far better.

Thank you everyone for your valuable advise. I shall head for the Emirates lounge.
