which aircraft has the better product in Business?
I would say 777 because of the wider cabin width resulting in a wider seat overall. Also, you may luck out on a retrofitted 777 aircraft with Wifi and new IFE. I don't think they have started retrofitting the a330 so you would get the old product on all of them.
The seat is basically the same, both in a 1-2-1 layout. The smaller dimensions of the A330 mean there is slightly less storage space around the seat and the table is a bit smaller, but apart from that the variations are quite minor. So really it comes down to whether you want the quieter but slightly more cramped Airbus or the airier but rather more noisy Boeing
Thanks, OZjames70 - we all love input with no explanation or rationale behind it LOL.
I just looked at the results of the on-line poll for this thread which show a marked preference for the B777.
Tbh it's not an aircraft I like very much - I find the drone from the engines is particularly grating - but it's hard to flat-out contradict that opinion. I would just add that I think, to a large extent, the answer depends on personal priorities. If you are of a larger or taller build or just generally prefer more space (or personal belongings!) around you, the B777 may be a better bet. However, if (like me) you find that engine noise and vibration can make it harder for you to relax or sleep, then the A330. Either way, factor in the scheduling and how that works with the way that your own body works. Do you want a longer or shorter layover? Also, what are you planning to do on the flight? Is sleep going to be the biggest priority? If so, what is going to be better for you - more space, or a quieter environment?
These choices are always incredibly personal. I hope that some of the input from here helps you decide what is right for you.

I have just returned from Europe in business class with Cathay and felt the beds on the B777 were most uncomfortable.

Which 777 variant and which airline, would make a bit of difference
Cheers
