Hi all, i am currently KF Gold, but I am 571 elite miles short of re-qualification by the end of October. I have no flights planned before then. Is there any other way of making up the shortfall. TIA
The cheapest Singapore airlines flight to Singapore, earning 50% elite miles. will nail you 3752 points return from Melbourne. A melbourne to Wellington flight with Singapore airlines will easily give you the miles you need as well regardless of fare class.
With air New Zealand, You've got to be very careful about booking classes as the vast majority of trans-Tasman economy fares don't get you anything, even some fully-flex fares.
There is no ânon flyingâ way to make the points - if you've been elite for years try calling Singapore and begging. You might get lucky.
Just an update to the original post. On the recommendation of Mjkcan , I contacted SIA on their chat line. Once you get past the robot, you get to chat with a real person, and they agreed to waive the points to continue as Gold for myself and wife.
