Status run advice needed. My husband is currently QF Gold (OW Sapphire) and 60 status credits away from qualifying for OWE. What are the best value status run options from New York to accrue 60 QF status credits before October 31st?

Some AA flights to Canada can be routed through DFW (even from JFK). A return econ flight through DFW should do the trick.

I just got 40 SCs from MHK to DFW (Manhattan Kansas to Dallas) return on a flexible economy fare on AA. Flight each way is under 1.5 hours). So you should be able to work it out from there. Probably not worth it $ wise unless the flight is for something else though.

I've done JFK-CLT-ORD-CLT-JFK with AA in J for a few extra SC's. If you don't mind the extra bit of flying there are some decent options that aren't extravagantly expensive and give you enough time to go explore Chicago for a little while.
I recall I earned 30 SC's for each flight, so that'd certainly get you to OW Emerald.

Hmm, sadly I am 10, YES only 10 status points short from 1400. Equally sadly, Qantas does not fly commercially to Avalon, so will have to wait until my next trip in 2020 to slip passed the threshold of P

...but Jetstar does fly to Avalon and if you pay the right fare you get status credits without having to wait.

Patrick: home is Melbourne, so poor attempt at joke flying Tulla to Avalon = 10 SC. Perhaps?

I'm not sure if this will work with Qantas but a few years ago I was 30 points off platinum with Virgin. A friend advised me that her partner had previously requested they waive the missing points and award platinum status which they did. I tried the same and was also successful. It's worth a try if you can't do a status run that makes sense both in time and dollars.
